The Hawaiian alphabet has just 13 letters - consonants are H, K, L, M, N, P, W, and the glottal stop (Hawaiian: `okina IPA ) and vowels are A, E, I, O, and U.Ĭontrary to common misconceptions, the `okina is not a punctuation mark but a full consonant and must therefore be written.
